Which bench cushion is right for you?
The right bench cushion mainly depends on the place of use, the level of use, the desired care properties and any requirements regarding outdoor suitability or fire protection. For living areas, dining rooms, kitchens, window seats, garden benches, terraces, hospitality, hotels, care facilities, medical practices and public areas, Lekoni® offers five carefully selected materials.
- For dining rooms, living areas, children’s rooms and window seats: Panama is homely, pleasant, washable and available in many colours.
- For heavily used indoor seating areas: Mali is particularly hard-wearing, breathable and suitable for families, hotels, hospitality and covered outdoor areas.
- For kitchens, bathrooms and easy-care seating areas: faux leather can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, is robust and uncomplicated in everyday use.
- For terraces, garden benches, outdoor hospitality, hotels, saunas, swimming pools, boats and medical practices: Premium Faux Leather B2 is very robust, water-repellent, easy to care for and suitable for regular outdoor use.
- For care homes, clinics, medical practices and public facilities with B1 requirements: Premium Faux Leather B1 is flame-retardant according to DIN 4102 B1 and suitable for high hygiene and fire protection requirements.
- For most bench cushions: 4 cm foam thickness is the proven standard thickness.
- For more seating comfort: 6 cm is noticeably more comfortable and more voluminous.
- For lounge areas, garden benches and very thick padding: 8 cm creates a particularly substantial and comfortable look.
Rule of thumb: Panama and Mali are ideal for homely interiors. Faux leather is suitable for particularly easy-care areas. For outdoor use, contract areas and heavily used seating surfaces, Premium Faux Leather B2 or Premium Faux Leather B1 are the best choice. Premium Faux Leather B1 is mainly required when flame-retardant material according to DIN 4102 B1 is explicitly needed.

Whether for a kitchen bench, dining bench, corner bench, storage bench, hallway bench, window seat, garden bench, beer bench, beer tent set, metal bench, wooden bench, seating niche, waiting bench, sauna bench or medical practice bench – Lekoni® manufactures your bench cushion individually made to measure. You enter the width, depth, fabric, colour and cushion thickness in the configurator and receive a perfectly fitting seat cushion for your bench.
Lekoni® also manufactures custom bench pads for long benches in entrance areas, waiting zones, restaurants, hotels, care homes, saunas, medical practices, churches, clubs or public facilities. From a single item to larger orders, every cushion is individually produced in Germany. There is no minimum order quantity.
Depending on the bench, size and area of use, many seat cushions can also be used as back cushions. However, Lekoni® does not manufacture special back cushions with custom shapes, bevelled corners or individual template shapes. If you would like to use a straight, rectangular cushion as a back cushion, you can also order it made to measure in the cushion configurator.
The maximum size for a bench cushion is 260 × 100 cm. There is no minimum width or minimum depth. This means that both small window seat cushions and long bench pads for dining rooms, hospitality, waiting areas or beer tent sets can be configured.

For your custom bench cushion, Lekoni® offers five material options: Panama, Mali, faux leather, Premium Faux Leather B2 and Premium Faux Leather B1. The materials differ mainly in appearance, care, durability, outdoor suitability and fire protection properties.
Quick material recommendation: Panama for homely interiors, Mali for heavily used fabric cushions, faux leather for easy-care everyday areas, Premium Faux Leather B2 for outdoor and commercial use, Premium Faux Leather B1 for areas requiring flame-retardant equipment.

Important when choosing between Premium Faux Leather B1 and B2: We recommend Premium Faux Leather B1 mainly when flame-retardant material according to DIN 4102 B1 is explicitly required. For most robust outdoor, hospitality and contract applications without B1 requirements, Premium Faux Leather B2 is the suitable choice.
Premium Faux Leather B2 is the right choice if you are looking for a robust, easy-care and very resistant bench cushion for regular outdoor use or commercial seating areas. It is particularly suitable for hospitality, hotels, terraces, saunas, swimming pools, boats, medical practices and heavily used areas.
Premium Faux Leather B1 is the specialist solution for areas with increased fire protection requirements. The material is flame-retardant according to DIN 4102 B1 and is particularly suitable for care homes, clinics, public facilities, medical practices and contract furnishing when B1 is required.

In the Lekoni® cushion configurator, you create your custom bench cushion in just a few steps. You choose the fabric, colour, cushion thickness and desired size. The price is calculated directly in the configurator, so you can immediately see how much your individual bench cushion costs.
- Choose fabric: Panama, Mali, faux leather, Premium Faux Leather B2 or Premium Faux Leather B1.
- Select colour: depending on the fabric collection, 20 to over 50 colours are available.
- Define cushion thickness: 4 cm, 6 cm or 8 cm – suitable for seating comfort, look and area of use.

- Select optional ties: the fixing ties are attached to the rear corners on the zip side.

Which cushion thickness is right?
The right cushion thickness depends on how soft the bench cushion should feel, how hard the seating surface is and which look you prefer. Lekoni® offers bench cushions in 4 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm thickness. High-quality foam with density 35 and compression hardness 5.0 is used.
- 4 cm: the proven standard thickness for most bench cushions – ideal for kitchen benches, dining benches, corner benches, window seats, hallway benches, waiting areas, hospitality and normal everyday use.
- 6 cm: noticeably more comfortable and more voluminous – suitable for hard seating surfaces, longer sitting times or when the bench cushion should visibly offer more cushioning comfort.
- 8 cm: very thick padding for lounge areas, garden benches, deep seating surfaces and particularly comfortable seats with a soft, substantial look.
Recommendation: For most benches, 4 cm is the right choice. If you want more comfort or sit on a very hard bench, choose 6 cm. We recommend 8 cm mainly when a deliberately very thick, lounge-style cushion is desired.
Custom outdoor bench cushions for terrace, garden, sauna and hospitality
For regular outdoor use, Lekoni® particularly recommends outdoor bench cushions, garden bench cushions and bench seat cushions made from Premium Faux Leather B2 or Premium Faux Leather B1. Both materials are water-repellent, resistant to chlorine and salt water, easy to care for and significantly more durable than classic interior fabrics. This makes them particularly suitable for terraces, garden benches, outdoor hospitality, hotels, saunas, swimming pools, boats, medical practices and heavily used seating areas.
Panama, Mali and faux leather can also be used outdoors, but should only be used in protected outdoor areas or in fine weather. For covered terraces, balconies, conservatories or protected seating areas, these materials can be a practical solution depending on the intended use.
Important: Even robust outdoor bench cushions should not be permanently exposed to rain, snow, standing water or all weather conditions. Premium Faux Leather B1 and B2 are water-repellent and very resistant, but the finished bench cushion is not fully waterproof due to its removable cover with zip. In heavy rain, overnight or during longer periods of non-use, we recommend storing the bench cushions in a protected place.
Bench cushions for hospitality, hotels, care and contract furnishing
Lekoni® manufactures custom bench cushions not only for private benches, but also for commercial and public areas. These include restaurants, cafés, hotels, care homes, clinics, medical practices, churches, clubs, saunas, swimming pools, waiting areas and public facilities.
In heavily used areas, robust, easy-care and easy-to-clean materials are especially important. For hospitality, hotels, saunas, swimming pools, medical practices and outdoor hospitality, we particularly recommend Premium Faux Leather B2. For care homes, clinics and public facilities with increased fire protection requirements, Premium Faux Leather B1 is the suitable specialist solution.
All bench cushions are individually made to measure. This means that long benches, waiting benches, church benches, sauna benches or seating areas in restaurants and hotels can also be fitted precisely. From a single item to a larger contract order, no minimum order quantity is required.

Many customers order bench cushions in classic bench sizes for kitchen benches, dining benches, garden benches, beer benches or window seats. Narrow and long formats with a depth of 35 to 40 cm are particularly popular, as are deeper garden bench cushions with a depth of 50 cm. Every size is made individually after ordering and can be adjusted in the configurator if required.

Lekoni® ships custom bench cushions with DHL within Germany and to nine other EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Within Germany, delivery to DHL Packstations is also possible.
The usual delivery time for bench cushions within Germany is 5 to 10 working days. For deliveries to other EU countries, usually 1 to 3 working days are added. Since every bench cushion is individually made to customer specifications, there is no classic stock shipping.

How do I measure my bench correctly for a custom bench cushion?
Measure the width and depth directly on the piece of furniture and not on an old cushion. This ensures that your new bench cushion is made to fit precisely. Which fabric is right for my bench cushion?
For living areas, dining rooms, children’s rooms and window seats, Panama is a homely and easy-care choice. Mali is suitable for more heavily used seating areas, hotels, hospitality and covered outdoor areas. Faux leather can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and is therefore particularly practical for kitchens, bathrooms and easy-care seating areas. For regular outdoor use and commercial applications, we recommend Premium Faux Leather B2 or Premium Faux Leather B1. Premium Faux Leather B1 is mainly useful when flame-retardant material according to DIN 4102 B1 is explicitly required.
Which cushion thickness should I choose?
Lekoni® offers bench cushions in 4 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm thickness. 4 cm is the proven standard thickness for most bench cushions, for example for kitchen benches, dining benches, corner benches, window seats, hallway benches, waiting areas and hospitality. We recommend 6 cm if more seating comfort is desired or if the seating surface is very hard. 8 cm is a very thick cushion and is particularly suitable for lounge areas, garden benches, deep seating surfaces and especially comfortable seats. Foam with density 35 and compression hardness 5.0 is used.
Are the covers washable?
All Lekoni® bench cushions are made with a removable cover and zip. Panama and Mali covers are washable at 30 °C. Faux leather, Premium Faux Leather B2 and Premium Faux Leather B1 are wiped clean with a damp cloth. Further information can be found in the care and washing instructions.
Are Lekoni® bench cushions suitable for outdoor use?
For regular outdoor use, we particularly recommend Premium Faux Leather B2 or Premium Faux Leather B1. Both materials are water-repellent, resistant to chlorine and salt water, easy to care for and significantly more robust than classic interior fabrics. This makes them suitable for garden bench cushions, outdoor bench cushions and bench seat cushions in protected or regularly used outdoor areas. Panama, Mali and faux leather can also be used outdoors, but should only be used in protected outdoor areas or in fine weather.
Are outdoor bench cushions waterproof?
No, complete waterproofness cannot be guaranteed due to the construction. Premium Faux Leather B1 and B2 materials are water-repellent and very resistant, but the finished bench cushion is made with a removable cover and zip. It should therefore be stored in a protected place during heavy rain, snow, standing water or longer periods of non-use.
Fixing, cover and replacement covers
Do all bench cushions have a zip?
Yes, all Lekoni® bench cushions are made with a zip. The cover is removable and can be washed or wiped clean with a damp cloth depending on the material. This makes care easier and helps the bench cushion last longer.
Can I order fixing ties?
Yes, fixing ties can be selected as an option in the configurator. As standard, they are attached to the rear corners on the zip side. Other positions or additional ties are also possible on request.
What can I do if my bench cushion slips?
Bench cushions can slip on smooth seating surfaces. There are two options: you can select optional fixing ties in the configurator or order a suitable anti-slip mat separately. The anti-slip mat is used as an underlay and can be cut to size if required.
Can I order replacement covers for existing foam cushions?
Yes, at Lekoni® you can order replacement covers for existing foam cushions. This is practical if the foam is still in good condition but the cover needs to be replaced or a new colour is desired. Replacement covers are available for bench cushions, chair cushions and seat cushions.

How long does delivery of a custom bench cushion take?
The usual delivery time within Germany is 5 to 10 working days. For deliveries to other EU countries, usually 1 to 3 working days are added. Since every bench cushion is individually made to customer specifications, there is no classic stock shipping.
