Custom-Made Bench Cushion 120x50 cm

120x50 cm bench cushion made from Panama fabric on a deep garden bench
120x50 cm bench cushion for a compact, deep bench

A 120x50 cm bench cushion is suitable for compact benches with a comparatively deep seating area. At Lekoni®, this size means 120 cm wide and 50 cm deep.

With two seating positions, each person has a calculated width of 60 cm. Due to the depth of 50 cm, this size is particularly suitable for garden benches, patio benches, balcony benches and smaller lounge benches.

You choose the material, colour and a cushion thickness of 4, 6 or 8 cm. The rectangular bench cushion is then manufactured in Germany after your order is placed. The cover is removable and fitted with a zipper.

  • Finished size: 120 cm wide and 50 cm deep
  • Shape: rectangular
  • Cushion thicknesses: 4, 6 or 8 cm
  • Materials: six fabric and faux leather options
  • Cover: removable with zipper
  • Fastening: optional ties; anti-slip mat available separately

Which Benches Are Suitable for a 120x50 cm Cushion?

This size is suitable for a straight seating surface with approximately 120 cm of usable width and 50 cm of depth. Typical applications include:

  • Deep garden bench: A 120x50 cm garden bench cushion is suitable for compact two-seater benches with a straight, rectangular seating area.
  • Patio bench: The greater depth provides more seating surface and is suitable for benches designed for longer, more relaxed sitting positions.
  • Balcony bench: The width of 120 cm remains comparatively compact, while the depth of 50 cm provides a more generous seating area.
  • Small lounge bench: This size can be used for low, deep benches made from wood, metal or other solid materials.
  • Seating niche and windowsill: A 120x50 cm cushion is suitable for compact but deep rectangular niches.
  • Sauna and wellness bench: For these areas, choose a material that is suitable for the moisture, cleaning requirements and actual use.

What Is the Difference Between 120x50 cm and 120x40 cm?

Both sizes have the same width of 120 cm. However, the 120x50 cm version is ten centimetres deeper.

This additional depth is suitable for benches where a more relaxed seating position is preferred or where a larger seating area needs to be fully cushioned. On a bench that is only 40 cm deep, a 120x50 cm cushion would extend noticeably beyond the front edge.

Therefore, in addition to the width, be sure to measure the usable seat depth directly on the furniture.

How Many People Can Sit on a Width of 120 cm?

With two seating positions, each person has a calculated width of 60 cm. This provides comparatively generous space per person on a garden, patio or lounge bench.

A third compact seating position may be possible depending on the design of the bench, but at a width of 120 cm it will be considerably narrower. For typical use, this size is primarily suitable as a two-seater.

How to Measure a 120x50 cm Bench Cushion Correctly

Measure the width from left to right and the depth from the front edge to the desired rear edge of the cushion. Measurements should be taken directly on the usable seating surface.

Check both measurements at several points. Garden benches, solid wood furniture, older seating surfaces and masonry niches in particular are not always completely square.

If the edges are irregular, choose rectangular dimensions that ensure the cushion does not extend beyond the seating area where this is not desired. Lekoni® manufactures rectangular and square cushions, but not trapezoidal shapes, curves or cut-outs.

The ordered dimensions are the intended finished dimensions. Due to the manufacturing process, deviations of up to approximately ±1 cm may occur. An illustrated explanation can be found in the Lekoni® measuring instructions.

Which Cushion Thickness Is Suitable for 120x50 cm?

  • 4 cm: compact cushioning for a seating surface that is already suitably designed
  • 6 cm: additional cushioning for hard wooden and metal benches as well as longer periods of sitting
  • 8 cm: substantial and clearly visible cushioning for deep and lounge-style seating areas

Due to the depth of 50 cm, a thickness of 6 or 8 cm can also suit the proportions of the bench well. However, the existing seat height, any backrest and the desired seating comfort remain the key factors.

We use foam with a density of 35 and compression hardness of 5.0.

120x50 cm Bench Cushion: Prices by Material

The following table shows the prices for a 120x50 cm bench cushion with a cushion thickness of 4 cm. Surcharges for 6 or 8 cm are displayed in the configurator after selection.

Premium Faux Leather B1150,00 €over 40Flame-retardant according to DIN 4102 B1

Which material is suitable depends mainly on the intended use and the preferred cleaning method. Panama has a textile, washable surface, while faux leather can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Mali is suitable for more heavily used indoor areas. Textura Plus and Premium Faux Leather B2 are also intended for regular outdoor use. Premium Faux Leather B1 is flame-retardant according to DIN 4102 B1.

All available materials and colours can be found in the Lekoni® cushion configurator. Further technical properties and material differences can be found under Upholstery Fabrics and Faux Leather Compared.

120x50 cm Garden Bench Cushion for Balconies and Patios

For a sheltered garden, balcony or patio bench, different materials may be suitable depending on the desired surface. If the cushion is brought indoors when it rains, Panama, Mali or faux leather can also be used.

Textura Plus and Premium Faux Leather B2 are particularly suitable for regular outdoor use. The outdoor properties refer to the respective cover material.

Due to the seams and zipper, the complete cushion is not fully waterproof and should be stored in a dry place during prolonged rain and longer periods of non-use.

Add a Matching Back Cushion

For a deep garden or lounge bench, a separate rectangular back cushion can also be configured in the same material and colour. The backrest area must be measured separately.

The seat cushion and back cushion are manufactured as two separate cushions. Connected cushions, wedge shapes or angled designs are not available.

How to Keep a 120x50 cm Bench Cushion from Slipping

On smooth seating surfaces made from lacquered wood, metal or plastic, the cushion may slip during use. Optional ties can be selected if the bench has a suitable backrest or support bars for fastening.

If there is no suitable fastening point, an anti-slip mat can be placed underneath the bench cushion and cut to the required size.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 120x50 cm Bench Cushion

What does the size 120x50 cm mean?

The first number indicates the width and the second number the depth. The cushion is manufactured 120 cm wide and 50 cm deep.

How much does a 120x50 cm bench cushion cost?

With a cushion thickness of 4 cm, the cushion costs from €84.00 in Panama fabric. Depending on the material, the price is up to €150.00 in Premium Faux Leather B1. A surcharge for 6 or 8 cm is displayed in the configurator.

Is a 120 cm wide bench suitable for two people?

With two seating positions, each person has a calculated width of 60 cm. This provides comparatively generous space on a compact garden, patio or lounge bench.

When is a depth of 50 cm suitable?

A depth of 50 cm is suitable for correspondingly deep garden, patio, balcony and lounge benches. It should only be selected if the usable seating area is actually approximately 50 cm deep.

Which cushion thickness is suitable for a deep garden bench?

Thicknesses of 4, 6 and 8 cm are available. A thickness of 6 or 8 cm can suit a deep, low seating area well. However, the existing seat height and the construction of the bench remain the key factors.

Can I order a matching back cushion?

Yes. A separate rectangular cushion in the same material and colour can be configured for this purpose. The backrest area must be measured separately.

Is the cover removable?

Yes. The cover has a zipper and can be removed from the foam core. Whether the cover can be washed or should be wiped clean with a damp cloth depends on the selected material.

What should I do if my bench has different dimensions?

In the Lekoni® cushion configurator, you can enter the width and depth individually. The seating area does not need to measure exactly 120x50 cm.

Can only the cover be replaced later?

Yes. If the foam core is still usable, a suitable replacement cover can be ordered.
